FAQ
Common questions.

Everything you need to know about applying for funding and working with Phellion.

Who is eligible to apply? +
Any small business owner registered or actively operating in Greece is eligible to apply. We support businesses across all industries — retail, food & beverage, services, creative, and more. Diaspora entrepreneurs looking to establish or expand in Greece are also welcome.
What’s the difference between a micro-grant and a short-term loan? +
A micro-grant is non-repayable funding of up to €2,500 designed for early-stage businesses. A short-term loan of up to €10,000 is repaid over 12–24 months at a low interest rate and is better suited for businesses with existing revenue looking to grow or stabilize.
How long does the application process take? +
Applications take about 5 minutes to complete. Our team reviews all submissions on a rolling basis and typically responds within 2 weeks. If we need additional information we will reach out via email.
What can the funding be used for? +
Funding can be used for a wide range of business needs including inventory, equipment, marketing, website development, legal fees, rent, staffing, and operational costs. We ask that all applicants provide a clear use-of-funds plan with their application.
Do I need to be a Greek citizen to apply? +
No. You do not need to be a Greek citizen. You simply need to be operating a business in Greece or have a concrete plan to do so. Members of the Greek diaspora looking to return or invest in Greece are strongly encouraged to apply.
Is Phellion a legitimate nonprofit? +
Yes. Phellion is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2024. All donations are fully tax-deductible. Our EIN is available upon request. We are committed to full transparency in how donor funds are allocated.
What other services does Phellion offer beyond funding? +
Beyond grants and loans, Phellion provides legal guidance, marketing consultation, graphic design support, logistics advice, and diaspora resources including information on citizenship pathways, tax obligations, and available diplomatic and economic resources in Greece.
How can I support Phellion if I’m not a business owner? +
You can donate directly to fund grants and loans for Greek entrepreneurs. Even a $25 donation covers a legal consultation for a small business owner. All donations are tax-deductible. You can also spread the word by sharing Phellion with your network.
